What is a Quick-Snap Sprinkler?Back Up

What is Quick-Snap?It consists of a professional model, gear-driven sprinkler head with a SwingSnap Adapter. The patented adjustment dial is the easiest model in the industry to set. And, it comes with a five-year warranty. One screw on the top of the head sets the spray distance and another screw sets the spray rotation. No other head is as easy to adjust. The distance can be set from approximately 17 feet to approximately 40 feet depending on your water pressure. The rotation circle can be set from 40 degrees to 360 degrees. The Adapter allows an above-ground garden hose to feed water to the underground sprinkler head. The top of the Adapter is a garden hose quick-connect that swivels. Swing it up to snap on the hose. Push it down, out of the way for mowing. For smaller areas of lawn, we’ve developed a smaller Adapter for smaller heads. Our Quick-Snap Spray will water rectangular areas with a fine spray mist from a 4″ pop-up head.

Where should I put them?Back Up

The best way to figure this out is to snap on a hose and turn one on. Hold it firmly while it sprays to figure out the best spot to cover the most grass. No guesswork or difficult diagramming needed. You’ll find the best spots are in opposite corners of your yard. In corners, they’ll spray from left boundary to right boundary. Opposite sprinklers will overlap in the middle of the yard to cover the square or rectangle shapes of most yards. Put one at a protruding patio or house corner and the spray can go along two sides of the house. Each Sprinkler can cover over 5000 square feet of lawn.

How much do they cost?Back Up

A whole lot less than paying for a contractor installed system!!

We invite you to get bids on an inground system for your yard from contractors. Then price the Quick-Snaps needed to cover the same area. We calculate that you’ll save approximately $1000 per QS Sprinkler. That’s right. It will cost you at least $2000 to get a system to water an area that 2 Quick-Snaps could water, $3000 for 3 Quick-Snaps, and so on.

And what is the cost of waiting 6 months for your ugly torn-up lawn to grow back where the trenches were dug? Why not have buried, invisible sprinklers today?

For prices, refer to the Products section in the main menu. Prices are also listed on the individual product page.

How do you install them?Back Up

Dig a hole 4-5 inches across and 9 inches deep. A garden trowel works fine. Put the head in and fill the hole halfway with dirt. Spin the spray turret all the way to the left. This is where the sprinkler will start and stop each rotation. Snap on the hose, turn on the water and make sure the spray is going where you want it. Turn off the water and pack in the rest of the dirt around the sprinkler. Now, use the adjustment screws on top to set the spray distance and how far you want it to turn to the right. You can do this while the water is running to see exactly where the spray is going. Use the Ys with your hoses to power 2 or more heads simultaneously.

How do I adjust the watering pattern?Back Up

For the QS Sprinkler there are two adjustments you can make: how far the turret rotates; and the distance the water throws from the head. There is an arrow on top for each of these settings.  The rotation arrow is in the center.  The distance arrow is on the outer edge–it also points the direction of the spray so make sure it is never pointed at you when the water is on.

To set the rotation, insert a flathead screwdriver into the slot and point the center arrow to the number of degrees you want the head to rotate. It can be adjusted from a minimum of 40 to a maximum of 360 degrees. Make sure the turret is turned all the way to the left or all the way to the right before making any adjustment to the arrow.

Key position to set spray distanceTo set distance, use the arrow along the outside edge.  The distance of the spray is controlled by a small screw in the top of the head –beneath the spray direction pointer. The rubber is slit open inside the arrow. You can fold the rubber in the circle back to see the top of the silver screw inside. Use the adjustment key that came with the sprinkler to turn the silver screw. Turn the screw clockwise to widen/shorten/soften the stream of the spray.  The screw performs two functions. It holds the red spray nozzle in place AND it diffuses and shortens the distance of the spray. The screw has a pointed end that threads right down into the flow of the water to diffuse it. The more it is threaded down, the greater the diffusion and the shorter the distance of the spray.

How do you keep dirt from getting in and clogging them up?Back Up

There are two ways that dirt is kept out. First, each SwingSnap Adapter comes with a bright orange cap to cover the opening. Using it when the sprinkler is not in use will keep debris out. And, its bright orange color will help you find the sprinkler in the grass the next time you use it. Second, each sprinkler has an internal plastic filter. For the Sprays, the filter is like a little basket. It can be removed, rinsed and replaced. The instructions that come with each kit describes how to clean the filter if it ever becomes necessary. For the Sprinkler, the filter is built into the bottom of the sprinkler head. The head can be unscrewed from its cannister and the filter rinsed off. However, the sprinkler’s nozzle opening is large enough to allow most debris to be flushed out through the sprinkler when it’s in use.
